Who can be a whistleblower?
(Video Transcript)

Just about anybody can be a whistleblower.  In our experience, it’s typically people who work for companies that are cheating the government.  If you are an employee and you see things going on at a company that involve defrauding the government of money, you can be a whistleblower.  If you used to be an employee at a company and you are aware of that kind of activity, you can be a whistleblower.  There’s virtually no limitation on who can bring a False Claims Act case.  In fact, you don’t even need to be an individual, you could be a company that’s aware of wrongdoing against the government.
